Organic growth, ad hoc IT and status-quo websites
Fiberpol is a family-run Barbados manufacturer with more than four decades of history, now operating several brands across interiors, solid surfaces and infrastructure.
As the business grew, IT and web practices grew around it rather than to a plan. Systems were set up as they were needed, websites were managed on a status-quo basis, and key accounts, hosting and domains were not always clearly owned or controlled by the business itself.
That left security and governance gaps, and a group with multiple brands but no coherent approach to how those brands appeared and were managed online.
Governance first, then a group-wide web presence
- Ran a full IT and web audit, mapping systems, accounts, domains, hosting and the risks between them.
- Became Fiberpol’s managed IT provider, giving the business one accountable partner for day-to-day IT.
- Took over hosting, DNS and domain oversight, consolidating them and returning ownership and control to Fiberpol, with analytics held under Fiberpol-owned accounts.
- Designed and built the Fiberpol Infrastructure website from the ground up, based on the division’s needs and brand, as a responsive, lively product catalogue for access covers, drainage, water and waste management, pipes and construction materials.
- Gave Infrastructure a quote basket and routed forms for quotations, technical guidance (including load class), product support and brand enquiries, with drawing and specification uploads for Barbados and St. Lucia.
- Supported the launch of the group’s wider five-site brand rollout on the hosting, domain and IT side, so each new site went live on secure, client-owned infrastructure.
- Now provide ongoing updates and support across all of the group’s sites.
Security, ownership and a stronger group presence
Fiberpol now owns and controls its digital estate, with one partner accountable for its IT, hosting and website support.
The group could roll out its brands on a secure foundation, and Fiberpol Infrastructure has a site built for engineers, contractors and developers to find products, get technical answers and request quotes.
